But because of the unspeakable mercy of God, our heavenly Father saw our misery and wretchedness and sent His only-begotten Son into the world, that all who believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
He has laid on Him the sins of us all and delivered Him for us all, that through Him we might be reconciled to God.
He has made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
This is that great and unspeakable mercy of God toward us poor sinners, that He spared not His own Son but delivered Him up for us all, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Therefore let us not doubt but firmly believe that God is gracious to us for the sake of His Son, and that we are received into favor for His sake alone.
