In this exposition of John 10:31–42, Zack DiPrima examines the Jewish leaders’ attempt to stone Jesus for making Himself equal with God and draws out lessons about Christian persecution, the divine authority of Christ, and the faithful witness of John the Baptist. The sermon explains that the world may tolerate religion in general while opposing the exclusive claims of Jesus Christ, and that persecution often comes through false accusations against those seeking to remain faithful to God’s Word. DiPrima then considers Jesus’ appeal to Psalm 82 and to His miraculous works, showing how Christ’s works testify to His unique relationship with the Father and His identity as the divine Son of God. Finally, the sermon turns to John the Baptist, a man who performed no sign yet was remembered because “everything that John said” about Jesus was true. John’s commitment to truth, willingness to suffer for it, and consuming desire to magnify Christ provide a model for every Christian: fear God rather than man, speak truthfully, remain faithful under opposition, and live so closely with Christ that pointing others to Him becomes the natural overflow of your life.
